Responsibilities
The Field Engineers are located around the world. Providing focused support is a key element for providing advanced customer benefit. This position has a vital role in the success of Caterpillar Marine in providing advanced technical expertise to insure minimal customer downtime. This job is responsible for providing technical and logistic support to the Field Service Engineers located around the world. This position is responsible for expediting Met Lab analysis reports, returned parts logistics, interfacing with CPI teams for validation parts, and working with Engineering to expedite advanced technical solutions to customer issues. Other responsibilities include improvement of Marine engine product reliability, warranty, service goodwill and provide technical product information to the Field Engineering team, and CMPS in support of product reliability/durability. Meeting regularly with the Product/Program managers to review product health, warranty, and other product support issues will be required and interacting on a daily basis with District/area Managers, Dealer Service & Sales Managers, subsidiary marketing & support management, Engineering management, and supervisors & managers of various departments to influence design decisions and formulate field problem management.
Travel may be as high as 20%. Successful candidate will be expected to relocate to Greenville, SC.
