When people talk about Fountain Inn they first talk about our Christmas Festival, carriage rides, and the holiday theme decorated houses. But Fountain Inn is SO MUCH MORE. Many things come to mind such as city hall and local government, and the provisions of utilities, sanitation, law enforcement and fire suppression, transportation, and the recreation and parks/greenways that interweave to provide a quality of life that those in a city enjoy.

Fountain Inn is all of this, but SO MUCH MORE! Being a city means planning and “working the plan” to kindle the spirit of today to reach toward promise in the future. Toward that ideal we must consider the creation of goals to propel us toward physical, social, and economic growth, while fostering development and redevelopment.

Our chamber of commerce has been a forward thinking group that plans with us and gives support and ideas to the city plans. Long range and short range plans are molded, massaged, put into play. Our Chamber is with us in all phases of the planning and is a very strong advocate for our business leaders.

As we face challenges brought on by a sagging economy, we look within and without to determine how we can best provide a superior quality of life for all. Moreover, we study and evaluate ourselves and other successful cities to determine how we compare and how we can become that place that others are trying to copy. .

And we don’t walk this path alone. We are a two county city, and that allows a sharing of knowledge that helps us gain an edge as we continue developing our city to meet the demands of today and the future on an ever shrinking dollar.
